In 1947, Don and Katy Kilwin opened the first Kilwins store. Since then, we’ve expanded with franchise locations nationwide. 

Even though we’ve gotten bigger, we’ve never left the roots of that first store location. Our recipes reflect those our founders used, and we strive for perfection with every batch of Heritage Chocolate we make. We think of our customers as treasured guests—we’re dedicated to serving only the best confections because that’s what we’d do for our loved ones.

On the shelf of every Kilwins, you can find mouthwatering treats like TUTTLE™ Nut Caramels, Extraordinary Everyday Truffles, and Katy-Ann Creams. Behind the counter, you might even see our delicious, made-in-house Mackinac Island Fudge traditionally hand-paddled on smooth marble tables. At our Williamsburg ice cream store, you can enjoy flavors like chocolate, vanilla, and mint. You can also catch novelty flavors that change on a rotating basis. Step back in time with a scoop of our Original Recipe Ice Cream. This recipe was first dreamed up in 1985, and it was so popular that we knew we needed to make it a permanent part of our selection.

Our ice cream is made from the finest ingredients, and all of our flavors are kosher-certified. Our waffle cones and waffle bowls are made in-house, although that’s hardly a surprise—you can smell the tempting aroma of freshly made ice cream cones from a mile away.

Our commitment to quality doesn’t stop with our recipe. We don’t trust anyone but ourselves to properly transport our ice cream, so we use our own specially designed fleet of trucks to deliver ice cream to our Williamsburg chocolate store. 

These trucks allow us to continually monitor the temperature of our ice cream, ensuring the consistency stays rich and creamy. We didn’t just stop there, either. While it’s in transport, our ice cream is stored in custom containers designed specifically to preserve the flavor and quality of our Original Recipe Ice Cream while in transit.
