Our Heritage Chocolate recipe is the same as it was when we opened over 75 years ago, and even our copper-kettle-cooked caramel is made using Don Kilwin’s original recipe. Our very first confection may have been our 1947 Heritage Chocolate, but our Original Recipe Ice Cream, formulated in 1985, is one of our pride and joys. We still use our original recipe but continue to add new inclusions and ingredients to bring you exciting new flavors. Our creamy, rich ice cream comes in every flavor you can imagine with the choice to have it served in our warm, made-in-house waffle cones and waffle bowls.
Our Original Recipe Ice Cream was first developed in 1985, and it was so popular that we knew it would become a lasting member of our confectionery lineup. Like many of our sweets, the base recipe has not changed since we first developed it.
Each flavor of our ice cream starts with our ultra-rich Original Recipe Ice Cream base. This base is made with only the finest ingredients, and all of our flavors are kosher-certified. Some of our limited-edition flavors incorporate rich chocolates, toasted nuts, fudge, or more seasonal items.
Our ice cream is transported in our own temperature-controlled trucks to ensure it doesn’t melt on its way to our West Chester ice cream store. The ice cream itself is packaged carefully to preserve the texture and flavor as it’s being transported.
