Kilwins is perhaps most famous for fudge and chocolates. In particular, our Mackinac Island Fudge made waves when we set up shop in Woodstock. At our Woodstock chocolate store, we bring the traditional way of making Mackinac Island Fudge all the way from Michigan to The Big A. We also make our caramel in copper kettles, which factors heavily into our perfect caramel apples, hot caramel ice cream topping, brittle, caramel corn, and, of course, our chocolate-covered caramels.
Our chocolate-making recipe is also an important part of our traditional confectionery methods. We still make our chocolate the same way our Kilwins founders, Don and Katy Kilwin, made them back in 1947. That’s why we call our most famous chocolate recipe our “Heritage Chocolate”—it laid the foundation for everything we do today, about 75 years later. That includes our Kilwins ice cream, which we started making in 1985 with the same dedication to quality.
